This letter is to inform you that the municipal wide reassessment of all properties located in the Borough of Seaside Heights is currently under way. This program, which has been approved by the Ocean County Board of Taxation and the New Jersey Division of Taxation, will be implemented for the 2013 Tax Year and is under direct supervision of the Municipal Tax Assessor pursuant to state law. (N.J.A.C. 18:12A-1.14)

The goal of the reassessment is to update all assessed values to a fair market value as of October 1, 2012. Doing so will level out any inequities that may currently exist and will result in a fair and equitable distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

Long Term Renting
All units renting long term are required to have an inspection every two years if the tenant is the same. Any new tenants inspection is required PRIOR TO NEW TENANTS MOVING IN. Bids are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 for the purchase of $1,000,000 Tax Anticipation Notes of 2012 (the “Notes”) of the Borough of Seaside Heights, in the County of Ocean, New Jersey. All bids will be publicly opened and announced at the Office of the Borough Chief Financial Officer on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., prevailing local time (“Sale Date”).
