Water and Sewer is billed by meter to all of the Municipality.
We base our Sewer Charge on the water consumption. Therefore if you keep your water consumption down then the sewer charge will be lower also. The billing is done on a quarterly basis. We read the meters approximately every 3 months, and there are 4 billings in a year.
The rate for the combined water/sewer usage shall be $17.00 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof. This rate was calculated as follows:
(a) Water: $5.00
(b) Sewer: $12.00
We get our water from Wells.

Water Usage for Common Household Tasks
You may be surprised to realize how much water we use every day. Typically, each individual in the average residence served by New Jersey-American Water Company used about 80 gallons of water every day.
Here is a summary of how much water is used, on average, for common household tasks:
| Washing Machine | 20 to 40 gallons per load |
| Hand washing dishes | up to 20 gallons per load |
| Automatic Dishwasher | 6 to 12 gallons per load |
| Bath | 20 to 50 gallons |
| Shower | 2 to 20 gallons per minute |
| Toilet | 3 to 7 gallons per flush |
| Faucet | 2 to 4 gallons per minute |
| Garden hose (1/2 inch) | 300 gallons per hour |
Water Leakage Calculations
You probably do not realize that a dripping faucet or other unsuspected leaks may be the cause.
Water Waste At 40 Pounds Pressure:
- a 1/32″ leak wastes 170 gallons in 24 hours
- a 1/16″ leak wastes 600 gallons in 24 hours
- a 1/8″ leak wastes 2500 gallons in 24 hours
At $17.00 per thousand gallons the smallest of these leaks will add over $1,000.00 to your annual water bill.
